ANNUAL MEETING – Held on
the third Thursday of January each year, all
donors are invited to the United Way Annual
Business Meeting and Awards Celebration.
RIGHT TO READ WEEK – The
third week of May is Ohio Right to Read Week.
The United Way celebrates by issuing a challenge
to parents to take the 100-Minute Challenge. By
reading for 20 minutes a day for five days
straight, parents can win a free LIVE UNITED
T-shirt. Right to Read Week also kicks off the
annual Imagination Library Coloring Contest for
children up to age 10. The contest is judged at
the Putnam County Fair.
STUFF THE BUS –Held the
last Saturday of July, this special event raises
funds and collects donations for the annual
Putnam County Back-to-School Giveaway. School
supplies are also collected in 20+ businesses
throughout the month of July.
CAMPAIGN KICK OFF –Held
in mid-September, the Kickoff is a festive event
to spotlight the United Way campaign, Pacesetter
companies, and campaign coordinators and
volunteers.
UNITED WAY PLEDGE-ATHON –
This volunteer-driven October event is a fun
highlight of the United Way campaign. Donors are
called on to renew their annual support of the
United Way partner agencies.
DAY OF CARING – The first
Saturday of October, teams of community
volunteers are matched with United Way Partner
Agencies to perform volunteer projects
throughout the community.
THANKS-FOR-GIVING – The
Monday before Thanksgiving, this event is an
opportunity to thank the community for coming
together throughout the year to support the work
of the United Way.
Thanks-for-Giving Day includes an Open
House held at the United Way office with
refreshments, door-prizes, and displays from the
partner agencies of the United Way.
